    Year 2018  started with favorable portents of the shape of things to come for 221 student grantees and 15 science faculty recipients of scholarships under the DOST-SEI Bangon Marawi Program in Science and Technology Human Resource Development (STHRD). DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Pena and SEI Director Josette Y. Biyo came for the Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony and the official announcement of the roster of recipients of the scholarship grants under the said program on January 26, 2018, at the CHARM Pavilion.

 The Board of Regents of the Mindanao State University System Announces the Opening of the Search for MSU – Naawan Campus Chancellor   NOTICE OF SEARCH FOR MSU – NAAWAN CAMPUS CHANCELLOR   Minimum Qualifications:   1.    Not less than thirty-five (35) years old and not more than sixty-one (61) years at the time of application. Sixty-one (61) years old shall mean from theactual date of birth and not a day older beyond sixty-one (61) years old. 2.    A natural-born Filipino citizen. 3.    Holder of an earned doctorate degree from a reputable higher education institution. 4.    Proven track record as an administrator in a tertiary level educational institution (President, Vice-President, Chancellor, Dean, Campus Administrator, Academic Director reporting directly to the President or to a Vice President), whether in public or private, for at least five (5) years. 5.    Must not have been convicted of any administrative offense or of any crime involving moral turpitude.   An applicant who does not meet any one of the abovementioned minimum qualifications and cannot submit pertinent supporting documentary evidences for these minimum qualifications on the set deadline shall be disqualified from the Search Process.

Overview

The College of Education is one of the three pioneering colleges of the University. Formal classes in the college started when the University opened classes on June 13, 1962. From a modest enrolment during its inception, the College has developed into one of the biggest units in the University in terms of enrollment both in the undergraduate and graduate programs.

Philosophy

The College is guided by the philosophy that “ the best teachers are highly competent, motivated and committed to the ideals truth, justice and service” whose primary responsibility is to train leaders to hasten the political and socio-economic development as well as enrich the cultural heritage of Mindanao and of the nation as a whole for global competitiveness.

Goal

To develop highly skilled, competent, and globally competitive teachers, educational leaders and citizens.

Vision

The College envisions to “enhance the image of teaching profession through relevant program conducted in an excellent educational environment for the development of quality teaching competencies and positive values and attitudes placing teaching at the helm of all professions.”

Mission

The college of Education is tasked to:

  • Attract the most capable and deserving students to the teaching profession;
  • Develop highly skilled, competent and innovative educational leaders and administrators who can work effectively with in the context of a unique cultural environment;
  • Offer relevant curricular program to meet the needs of the Muslims and other indigenous groups;
  • Share expertise with other educational institutions, particularly the Madaris;
  • Lead in the preservation and enrichment of the heritage of the country;
  • Conduct researches on the teacher education and other related fields;
  • Contribute to the enrichment of existing national efforts in the transformation process towards a culture of peace and development.

General Objectives

The College of Education is committed to attain the following objectives

  • Provide quality education and training to prospective teachers especially in the Madaris;
  • Offer advanced professional training for school administrators;
  • Strengthen the extension programs through non-formal education
  • Enrich programs or values education to promote inter-cultural understanding, solidarity, peace and development;
  • Serve as prime mover in the preservation and enrichment of the cultural heritage of the country;
  • Initiate and facilitate researches on the teacher education and other related fields; and
  • Develop among prospective teacher’s knowledge and skills in the transformation processes involved towards a culture of peace and development.

These objectives are carried out into the different programs of the College.
