2018 MSU Marawi Campus In-House Research Review

Call for Papers


THEME: MSU Marawi: Continuing Sustainable Researches amidst Adversity

All MSU Marawi Faculty and staff researchers, and currently enrolled graduate students are invited to showcase their own research outputs from 2015 to present through oral and poster presentations. Entries will be categorized into two clusters: 1) Pure and Applied Sciences and 2) Social Sciences, Humanities and Education. There will twelve winning entries with cash awards: six winners from each cluster i.e. three for oral and three for poster presentations, respectively. Only First Place Winners will represent the MSU Campus in the 4th MSU System Research Summit in 2019.


GUIDELINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION (For Oral and Poster Presentations)

1. Abstract should not be more than 250 words in MSWord, single-spaced, in Times New Roman font, size 12 and should be arranged as follows:

a)       Title: Boldface, maximum of 15 words, set the first letter of each key word in uppercase.

b)      Name of Author(s): First author should be the main/primary author. Include middle initial; for group research underline the name of the presenter.

c)       Affiliation: name of the department and the college of the author(s)

d)      Contact number (mobile phone) and e-mail address of the corresponding author

e)      Introduction

f)        Main Objective

g)       Methodology

h)      Results

i)        Conclusions

j)        Keywords (3-5 words) which includes discipline of study, concepts studies, research design/process)

k)       Indicate below the Keywords and appropriate research cluster (Pure and Applied Sciences or Social Sciences, Humanities and Education) and the intended type of presentation (Oral or Poster)

2) Submit tour abstract through e-mail at msrtc.inhouse.gmail.com (Attn: Dexter C. Canalita) on before February 28, 2018. You may submit soft copies directly to MSRTC, 2nd Floor. Look for Jade, Amerah, Aminah or Ruddi.

 3. Entries will be screened according to the originality, significance, technicalities, methodologies, rigor and its implications to the discipline and profession in general by the Screening and Awards committee.

 4. Corresponding authors for accepted entries will be notified on or before March 5, 2018 through email and mobile phones.

5. Accepted entries will be required to submit full paper/extended abstract (ORAL) and miniature poster (POSTER) for pre-judging on or before March 14, 2018. Formats for full paper/extended abstract and the miniature poster as well as the Criteria for selecting best papers for Oral and Poster categories will be given during the notification of acceptance.

 6. Failure to submit full paper/extended abstract and miniature poster for accepted entries on time will forfeit the chance to win award.

March 16, 2018                 Registration deadline for Non-presenter participants (P300); max of 20 pax per college; first come first served basis; no walk-in participants.

1. Secure a certification from the Research Coordinator, Chairman and Dean that the paper is a product of research output of the faculty/staff/students, and has not been presented nor published elsewhere. Kindly get the certification form from your College Research Coordinators or at MSRTC.

2. For a thesis output which is not under a research project of a faculty/adviser/staff, the faculty presenter/adviser (secondary author) must secure a written consent from the advisee/s (primary author/s).

3. Research Coordinators and members of the working committees are allowed to submit and present.

4. Only research works conducted from 2015 to present will be accepted.
