 The Board of Regents of the Mindanao State University System Announces the Opening of the Search for MSU – Naawan Campus Chancellor   NOTICE OF SEARCH FOR MSU – NAAWAN CAMPUS CHANCELLOR   Minimum Qualifications:   1.    Not less than thirty-five (35) years old and not more than sixty-one (61) years at the time of application. Sixty-one (61) years old shall mean from theactual date of birth and not a day older beyond sixty-one (61) years old. 2.    A natural-born Filipino citizen. 3.    Holder of an earned doctorate degree from a reputable higher education institution. 4.    Proven track record as an administrator in a tertiary level educational institution (President, Vice-President, Chancellor, Dean, Campus Administrator, Academic Director reporting directly to the President or to a Vice President), whether in public or private, for at least five (5) years. 5.    Must not have been convicted of any administrative offense or of any crime involving moral turpitude.   An applicant who does not meet any one of the abovementioned minimum qualifications and cannot submit pertinent supporting documentary evidences for these minimum qualifications on the set deadline shall be disqualified from the Search Process.

The Graduate School was established by the Board of Regents in its 63rd meeting on June 18-19, 1975, in recognition of the central role of Mindanao State University as the major state institution of higher learning in the MINSUPALA region. It is an answer to the expressed need for more advanced studies in the various relevant discipline.

The Graduate School of Mindanao State University is committed to the task of developing human resources for nation-building through advanced instruction, research, and professional growth.

In more specific terms, the Graduate School aims to attaining the following objectives: 1) To prepare graduate students for productive research in the various educational disciplines; 2) To enhance competencies in teaching, administration and management; 3) To develop leaders in the fields of endeavor being pursued; 4) To develop expertise as needed by all types of clienteles contingent on the University resources; and 5) To enrich, preserved, and transmit the cultural heritage through quality instructions, research and practice in various available media.

The Graduate School coordinates and reinforces the graduates programs of all academic units of the University. As such, it exercises jurisdiction over the operations of all graduate programs for the purpose of achieving the required academic standards.

Before the Graduate School was officially established, graduate programs in the different academic units were placed under the administrative and supervisory responsibilities of a Committee on Graduate Studies formed within the unit offering graduate programs.

Opportunities for advanced studies were made available at the start of the University’s second decade. The former College of Art and Sciences was authorized to offer Master of Arts in Teaching (Physics) in 1971. Subsequently, other graduate programs were offered. At present, Graduate Studies on the Masteral level are offered in seven(7) units or colleges of the University.

As the Institution’s distinct distribution to meeting the urgent need for highly skilled professionals whose future roles are vital to the regional and national efforts, two doctoral programs were implemented beginning the first semester, SY 1989-90.
