OVPAA OBJECTIVES

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs aims to achieve:

To provide strategic vision and leadership in all matters related to academic affairs. This involves setting goals, developing policies, and implementing initiatives that align with the institution’s mission and promote educational excellence.

To oversee the development and revision of academic programs and curriculum to ensure their alignment with industry trends, accreditation standards, and the needs of students. This includes fostering innovation in teaching and learning methods to enhance the quality and relevance of education.

To attract, retain, and develop a diverse and highly qualified faculty. This involves establishing fair and transparent recruitment processes, providing professional development opportunities, and implementing faculty evaluation systems to recognize excellence in teaching, research, and service.

To enhance student success and support services. This includes collaborating with various departments to implement academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, and other programs that help students thrive academically and personally.

To ensure that the institution maintains its accreditation and meets the required quality standards. This involves overseeing the accreditation process, conducting internal reviews, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance educational quality.

To foster a culture of research and scholarly activity by supporting faculty in securing grants, creating interdisciplinary research opportunities, and establishing mechanisms for disseminating research findings.

To forge collaborations and partnerships with other educational institutions, industry partners, and community organizations to enhance academic programs, facilitate research collaborations, and provide students with real-world learning opportunities.

To oversee the allocation and management of financial and other resources within the academic domain. This involves developing and managing the academic affairs budget, making strategic resource allocation decisions, and optimizing resource utilization to support academic goals.

To develop, review, and implement academic policies and procedures. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining academic integrity, and addressing emerging issues and challenges in higher education.
