About The Office

The University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) was created by virtue of BOR Resolution No. 171, S. of 2021 on July 12, 2021.


  1. Ensures the full implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) of MSU, Marawi City;
  2. Monitors services delivery of the MSU-Marawi in meeting the clienteles needs and requirements, which helps to instill confidence in the organization, in maximizing clientele satisfaction;
  3. Ensures compliance with regulations and provision of products and services in most effective and efficient manner, creating room for expansion, growth, and excellence both in academic and administrative services.


  1. Help coordinate and direct university activities to meet customer and regulatory requirements and improve its effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis;
  2. Act as the principal and central coordinating unit for all quality assurance programs, plans and policies of the University, to ensure the establishment, implementation, maintenance of such and to ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of the quality of its teaching, learning, research and delivery of services;
  3. Coordinate with the appropriate offices in the development and updating of policies and guidelines which includes, but not limited to, quality manual, procedures and work instructions manual;
  4. Coordinate with appropriate offices in ensuring that periodic management review is conducted;
  5. Ensure supervision of the keeping, updating and maintenance of controlled documents and documented procedures;
  6. Spearhead and conduct quarterly monitoring and evaluation on matters of service delivery following the guidelines stipulated in the university Quality Management System (QMS), both internal and external quality audit services on university activities to ensure customers satisfaction and gather feedbacks from clientele;
  7. Prepare a periodic Report on the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) to the Vice President for Planning and Development;
  8. Perform such other tasks in connection with quality assurance as may be assigned by higher authorities.

Training Workshop on Strategic Performance Management System

SPMS -related documentation is one of the requirements for ISO Certification. Thus, to ensure that the employee achieves the objectives set by the organization and to warrant alignment with the development plans, goals , objectives and mandates of MSU-Marawi, the HRDO, in coordination with the UQAO and Performance Management Team, took the lead to conduct a three-day Training Workshop on SPMS on July 12-14, 2023.

ISO 9001:2015 Awareness

On February 20, 2023, the UQAO organized a Seminar for ISO 9001:2015 Awareness, participated by Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinators of the academic, semi-academic and administrative units of the University.

GQMP Beneficiary

Did you know that MSU-Marawi and MSU-Maguindanao, are beneficiaries of the Development Academy of the Philippines’ Government Quality Management Program (GQMP)?

As such, both campuses received DAP’s technical assistance in 2021 for the establishment of a Quality Management System certifiable to ISO 9001 standard; consolidation of multiple management systems; and enhancement of quality management system (QMS) implementation; and effecting service quality improvement through relevant approaches such as 5S quality workplace, development of standards, co-creation innovation, and process streamlining.

Mandate of UQAO
