The Department of Secondary Teaching offers a Bachelor of Secondary Education. It is an undergraduate teacher education program designed to equip learners with adequate and relevant competencies to teach in their chosen area of specialization/major at the secondary level. The BSEd curriculum majors in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies provide secondary teaching experiences through apprenticeship and practicum and training for competent technology integration in the classroom.
This program was created under BOR No. 357, S. 2017 of the University. The program is in accordance with the Guidelines for the Implementation of Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 75 series of 2017

The first three colleges of the University were first formally organized in the academic year 1962-1963; As the Univesity progresses, the College of Liberal Arts was split into two colleges namely: the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities; College of Community Development and Public Administration now the College of Public Affairs and the College of Education.
Ms. Fatma S. Hadji Ahmad, a BSEd- English, ranked 7th place in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) taken last June 2022. For two consecutive board examinations, the College has retained its name in the roster of top notchers. All were taken during the pandemic which makes this triumph more noble and extraordinary for this is a living testimony of an MSUan’s resiliency and tenacity despite all odds.
The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) has five (5) majors or specializations that could help deliver quality basic education within the community. It reflects the college’s vision to enhance the image of the teaching profession through relevant programs that help the community and the country produce quality, skilled, and competitive teachers.
The College of Education not only prepares you for the board exam and provides you with the competencies necessary to transition seamlessly into the workforce after graduation, but it also molds you of becoming a professional teacher with a strong sense of social justice as you nobly make a significant change.
