About The College

The College of Education consists of four (4) departments namely the Department of Elementary Teaching, the Department of Secondary Teaching, the Department of Home Economics, and the Department of Graduate Education. 

With the prevailing low literacy rate of the youth of some parts of Mindanao and the emergence of ideologies confronting, the College of Education takes the lead in producing competitive and effective teachers who can transform society.  

Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives

Vision

The College envisions to “enhancing the image of the teaching profession through relevant programs conducted in an excellent educational environment for the development of quality teaching competencies and positive values and attitudes placing teaching at the helm of all professions.”

Mission

  1. Attract the most capable and deserving students to the teaching profession;
  2. Develop highly skilled, competent & innovative educational leaders & administrators who can work effectively within the context of a unique cultural environment;
  3. Offer relevant curricular programs to meet the needs of the Muslims & other indigenous groups;
  4. Share expertise with other educational institutions, particularly the Madaris;
  5. Lead in the preservation & enrichment of the cultural heritage of the country;
  6. Conduct researches on teacher education & other related fields;
  7. Contribute to the enrichment of existing national efforts in the transformation process towards a culture of peace & development.

Goal

To develop highly skilled, competent, and globally competitive teachers, educational leaders and peace advocates.

Objectives

  1. To provide quality education and training for prospective teachers in MINSUPALA region and the BARMM;
  2. To help develop professional training for teachers and school administrators in the MINSUPALA region and the BARMM;
  3. To provide skills training for out-of-school youths, adults and other members of the community who cannot avail of the formal training, thru its extension programs; and,
  4. To lead and provide the way for better understanding between and among Muslims and Christians and their culture; respect for human rights and duties of citizenship, and promote and enhance unity among its studentry.

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) is only a few hours away! As takers from all over the country do their last-minute preparations and as they enter the exam venues, let us take a moment to offer prayers and send well wishes to them as they brave yet another milestone in their professional journey.
Manifesting victory to all our takers! In the words of Stephen Covey “begin with the end in mind,” may you trudge on the hurdles and scream deafening glory in the licensure exams. You got this, future LPTs!

A Quick Reminisce!

The first three colleges of the University were first formally organized in the academic year 1962-1963; As the Univesity progresses, the College of Liberal Arts was split into two colleges namely: the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities; College of Community Development and Public Administration now the College of Public Affairs and the College of Education.

CED Program Undergoes COPC Ocular Inspection

With its aspiration of becoming at par with top universities and in adherence to maintaining quality assurance in instruction, standards, and administration, Mindanao State University–Marawi currently undergoes an ocular inspection in order to acquire a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Ministry of Basic, Higher & Technical Education (MBHTE) in Muslim Mindanao Government. COPC is a recognition that specific degree programs offered by SUCs/LUCs are fully compliant with the policies, standards, and guidelines of CHED/MHBTE.
