Almahdi “Aldean” Alonto has worked with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental entities, government agencies, and academic institutions abroad. He earned his M.A. in Conflict Resolution from the prestigious Department of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, where he was a Chevening Scholar. He also received the Oxford Muntada fellowship at the University of Oxford for Islamic Studies. His educational background includes an M.A. in Asian Studies with a scholarship from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where he also completed his baccalaureate degree in History. With a substantial 18-year history in peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction, Mr. Alonto is a recognized authority in the field. He has engaged significantly to research and publications on Bangsamoro History and Conflict Resolution. Presently, he serves as the Program Coordinator and a faculty member for Peace and Development Studies in the Graduate Studies program at the College of Social Sciences & Humanities (CSSH), alongside his role in the History Department.
