Iligan City, Philippines – June 27, 2025 – The Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) held its 55th Commencement Exercises today at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium in Iligan City. The ceremony was graced by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) President of the Mindanao State University System, who conferred degrees to the graduating class, alongside distinguished broadcast journalist and TV host of GMA Network, Ms. Kara Patria David-Cancio, who delivered an inspiring commencement address.
The event celebrated the achievements of hundreds of graduates from MSU-IIT’s various colleges, including the College of Engineering and Technology, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Economics, Business and Accountancy, College of Nursing, College of Computer Studies, and College of Education. The ceremony underscored the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its mission to foster holistic development for individuals and society.
In her commencement speech, Ms. Kara Patria David-Cancio, renowned for her impactful documentaries and advocacy for education and social justice at GMA Network, inspired the graduates to embrace their roles as agents of change in Mindanao and beyond.
