MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago recently led a delegation to meet with the Turkish Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Niyazi Evren Akyol, and Deputy Chief of Mission Okan Erkan.
The courtesy visit successfully reaffirmed and significantly strengthened the collaboration between Mindanao State University and the Republic of Türkiye. Discussions centered on mutual priorities, including forging stronger academic linkages, fostering deeper cultural understanding, and exploring collaborative opportunities for research and student exchange between the two institutions.
Accompanying President Tago were First Lady Sittie Norhaya Ambor-Tago, CPA, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA) Dr. Minerva-Saminah M. Naga, International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) Executive Director Dr. Renato S. Pacaldo, Manila Information Office (MIO) Director Hannah G. Marquez, RN, MPH, and MIO Supervising Administrative Officer Engr. Raymer Marl S. Tan.
To conclude the productive visit, President Tago presented Ambassador Akyol with a special token handcrafted from the University—a gesture symbolizing MSU’s profound appreciation and enduring friendship with Türkiye.
