The Mindanao State University (MSU) and Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) of Indonesia officially outlined its plans of academic cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on October 7, 2025 at the Office of the University Rector of UNDIP.
The formal signing was led by University President Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA and UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., symbolizing a shared commitment to fostering academic excellence, research collaboration, human resource and student exchanges that will pave way for more future collaborations with the constituent universities and supervised campuses of the MSU System.
This event also marks the first international agreement signed by President Tago for the entire MSU System.
Present during the signing ceremony at the Rektorat were Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, UNDIP’s Director for Global Affairs and Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of UNDIP’s Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, who expressed optimism that this new partnership will bring cohesive regional cooperation on sustainable fisheries management and marine biodiversity conservation.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Minerva-Saminah Mambuay Naga, Ph.D., College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) Dean Dr. Ma-ann M. Camarin, and CFAS Technology Department Chair Jollymar M. Capistrano, RFP. Present also were chancellors and superintendents of the university system, namely: Prof. Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, (MSU-TCTO), Prof. Dr. Nagder J. Abdurahman (MSU Sulu), Prof. Dr. Shiela G. Magolama (MSU Buug) and Prof. Cairani D. Gandamra, JD (MSU-LNCAT).
The signing took place in conjunction with the 13th International Fisheries Symposium (IFS), an annual platform organized under the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN).
