A delegation from Mindanao State University (MSU) – Main Campus is representing the Philippines at the 1st Green Trans-Edu Science Camp and Strategic Partner Visit in Indonesia, which runs from January 31 to February 8, 2026 (Group 1) and February 14, 2026 (Group 2). Authorized by MSU President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, the team is participating in the EU-funded GreenTrans-Edu project initiative under the SCOPE-HE program. The consortium connects European and ASEAN universities to conduct research on renewable energy (SDG 7) and land use conservation (SDG 15). MSU is serving as a technical partner, contributing expertise in microbiological soil analysis and AI-driven digital soil mapping; and communication specialists to serve as the science communicators and social science researchers.
The MSU delegation includes specialists in soil health and biodiversity (Camar P. Ameril, Husna A. Dimapalao, and Juliet C. Bangi), energy innovation (Layman M. Ozzaraga), and social impact and communication (Sorhaila Latip-Yusoph, Aslainee T. Macatanong, and Melba M. Angni). During the camp, they are visiting President University and Pancasila University in West Java to test technologies such as hybrid hydropower-solar systems and energy storage suited to tropical climates. The visit builds on earlier symposiums and coordinator meetings. The delegation is currently engaging in field activities and discussions, with plans to report findings upon return and integrate the observed innovations into MSU’s instruction, research, and community projects, supporting the university’s agenda for a comprehensive university addressing interdisciplinary issues.
