Mission

The College of Public Affairs is committed to produce globally competitive, professionally competent, socially responsible, morally upright, pro-active and peace-loving graduates through relevant and innovative academic programs, demand-driven, holistic and development-oriented research and extension service.

Goals 

1. Redesign the academic landscape, upgrade instructional materials and modernize facilities at pace with the national and international trends.
2. To be productive in Research endeavors;
3. To enhance positive behavior of both faculty and staff;
4. To institutionalize a comprehensive, integrated and demand-driven Extension Programs focused on good governance, Sustainable Community Development, and Social Welfare Services

 

Objectives

A. Instruction

1. Produce competent and skilled workforce in the public and private sector;
2. Hone the curricular program of the College;
3. Improve the work ethics among faculty and staff;
4. Formulate and implement comprehensive and rational academic personnel development pan;
5. Encourage the professional growth of the faculty force
6. Acquisition of adequate and modern instructional structure like equipment, facilities, etc.

B. Research

1. Encourage faculty members and students to engage in relevant research undertakings;
2. Conduct institutional researches on Public Management & Governance, Community Development, Social Welfare and other issues of local and global interests.
3. Revive the college Development Journal
4. Present research outputs in various research fora
5. Publish research outputs and best practices from the fields.
6. Hold research symposia and fora
7. Affiliate with reputable research institutions

C. Extension

1. Establish linkages and partnerships with communities, CSOs, NGOs, LGUs, NGAs and private organizations;
2. Outsourcing funds both from local and international sources;
3. Implement development interventions in public governance, community development and social welfare in response to the needs of our partners;

D. Sustaining Camaraderie 

1. Conduct regular team-building activities
2. Formulate guidelines for code of conduct consistent with our College’s core values
3. Strengthen the Ethics, Grievance and Disciplinary Committee
4. Foster camaraderie among constituent departments through institutionalized college activities
