The Dimaporo Gymnasium pulsed with music, movement, and MSUan spirit as Mindanao State University – Main Campus held its much-awaited 2025 Dance Extravaganza, with this year’s theme: “Inklusibong Pamantasan ng Mindanao.”
The event brought together various colleges in a spectacular showcase of cultural pride, artistry, and competitive energy. Organized by the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), this year’s edition of the annual competition lived up to its reputation of being one of the most vibrant student events on campus.
Rising above the fierce competition, the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEAR) was crowned Overall Champion of the 2025 MSU Dance Extravaganza. They showcased excellence across multiple categories, notably taking the top spot in Folk Dance and Contemporary Dance, and landing a solid second in Line Dance.
“We are very, very happy with the result,” shared Prof. Nadine Paqueo of CSPEAR. “Ginawa namin ang lahat—almost two months of preparations para lang makuha ang Championship.”
The competition featured five dance categories—Folk Dance, Line Dance, Contemporary, Street Dance, and overall championship rankings—with different colleges claiming victory in different areas.

The successful staging of the event was thanks to the efforts of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, which took on the responsibility of organizing for the third time.
“Nandoon yung pressure, which is already expected especially with the CBAA being the organizers for the third time,” said Dr. Hanafi Abdulmalik, overall chairman of the 2025 Dance Extravaganza. “But we simply hoped that the students will feel safe, and enjoy—from which is yun talaga ang purpose namin: para talaga mag-enjoy ang every MSUan.”
With the theme “Inklusibong Pamantasan ng Mindanao,” the event didn’t just celebrate dance but also the diverse identities, cultures, and stories of the MSU community. The audience – students, faculty, and guests alike—cheered on performances that ranged from traditional to modern, all united by the goal of inclusive celebration.
As the lights dimmed and the last beat dropped, the 2025 Dance Extravaganza left a lasting impression: a powerful reminder that unity, creativity, and passion are at the heart of the MSU-Main spirit.
