The Second Philippines Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium was successfully conducted on October 21–23, 2025 at the International Convention Center, Mindanao State University Main Campus, Marawi City.

Carrying the theme, “From Recognition to Action: Advancing Sustainable Small-Scale Fisheries in the Philippines,” the three-day symposium served as a vital platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and meaningful discussions among researchers, policymakers, fisheries practitioners, students, and stakeholders from various parts of the country.

The event highlighted the importance of strengthening sustainable fisheries initiatives and promoting collective action toward the development and empowerment of small-scale fisheries communities in the Philippines. Through engaging presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities, participants were able to share insights, experiences, and innovative approaches that contribute to the advancement of the fisheries sector.
