The Auxiliary Services Division of Mindanao State University – Main Campus, in partnership with the University Business Office, hosted a full-day policy forum on Monday, January 26, 2026, focusing on the university’s Income Generating Programs (IGP). The event gathered administrators, IGP heads, and faculty to review and strengthen the IGP framework and create plans for the institutionalization of the IGP Manual of Operations for all income generating units of the campus. The program kicked off with the opening remarks from Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance Atty. Saaduddin M. Alauya, Jr., CPA. Representing the University System President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, were Mr. Abdul Azis M. Pangandaman, the Chief of the Staff and Mr. Abdul Rahman C. Gandamra, who delivered words of encouragement and support, setting a collaborative tone for the discussions.
The forum featured two major sessions: a status report on IGP projections and targets led by University Business Office Director Muhammad Zuhair L. Gani, CPA, JD, and a strategic session on achieving IGP quotas presented by Prof. Alcasar P. Maongco, CPA, MM, REB. Participants also shared challenges faced by IGP units and venue booking issues during an extensive presentation.
After the presentations, an open forum allowed stakeholders to exchange ideas, culminating in a policy consolidation presentation and ways forward plans and other IGP strategies by Prof. Sorhaila Latip-Yusoph, Ph.D., focusing on refining campus facilities’ IGP policies through the creation of IGP Technical Working Group to be constituted by MSU officials and IGP experts of university. The event closed with remarks from Moumena D. Lucman, CSE, MPA, OIC of the Auxiliary Services Division, emphasizing the importance of unified strategies for IGP success.
The forum is expected to guide the university in optimizing income-generating activities and aligning them with institutional goals after an approved IGP Manual.
