The academic engagement between Mindanao State University (MSU) in the Philippines and Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) in Indonesia marks a growing collaboration aimed at strengthening regional academic partnerships within Southeast Asia. Both universities explored prospects for faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and collaborative academic projects that would strengthen educational ties between the two nations.
After months of productive coordination, the collaboration was formally solidified and sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Mindanao State University and Universitas Padjadjaran on October 10, 2025, at Unpad’s main campus in Bandung, Indonesia. The agreement was signed by the President of Mindanao State University, Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, and was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Minerva-Saminah M. Naga of the MSU main campus, and the Dean of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies, Atty. Jashim A. Abdulrahman, MAIS.
This momentous event officially marked the beginning of joint academic programs, research collaborations, and institutional exchanges, symbolizing both universities’ dedication to building a sustainable and impactful partnership that contributes to the broader goal of academic solidarity and international cooperation in Southeast Asia.
