by Prof. Sorhaila Latip-Yusoph

On March 21, 2023, MSU marked two significant events – the first-year anniversary of MSU 8th System President Atty. Basari D. Mapupuno and his Birthday Kandori. The celebration included several exciting activities, such as the unveiling of the Book of the President’s Speeches 2022, the launch of the new face of the MSU Newsletter and its new sections, and the launch of the MSU Marawi website. Additionally, different offices and units of the university presented their greetings, gifts, songs and dance performances, making the event an enjoyable and memorable one.

Some surprise parts of the program were the greetings from the Provincial Governor, Hon. Mamintal Bombit Adiong; the songs from the Hardy’s who are from the President’s good circle of friends; and the solo performance of the wife, Dr. Apasra Macumbal-Mapupuno. Indeed, it was an opportunity for the MSU community and the President’s family and friends to come together and show their appreciation for President Mapupuno’s leadership and achievements.

Part of the highlights in the event were the launching of the book, the March newsletter and the Website. The Book of the President’s Speeches 2022 showcases the inspiring and transformative messages delivered by President Mapupuno throughout his first year in office. It serves as a reminder of his vision for the university and his commitment to its growth and development.

Further, the new face of the MSU Newsletter and its new sections reflect the university’s efforts to keep its stakeholders informed and engaged. With this launch, students, faculty, and staff can expect to receive more relevant and timely updates about the university’s latest news, events, and initiatives.

Finally, the MSU-Marawi website is a platform that provides comprehensive information about the university’s programs, services, and facilities. It also highlights the unique cultural heritage and traditions of Marawi City, where the main campus is situated.

Both materials launched can be accessed through the QR codes unveiled during the event and in the website and page of the Office of Information, Press and Publication of MSU-Marawi which can be accessed via msumain.edu.ph.
