Biography

Chelmarie Joy Sanchez Clavano is an Assistant Professor at the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS) of Mindanao State University (MSU) – Main Campus. She is currently serving as the Technology Department Chairperson of CFAS.

Last 2012, she obtained her master’s degree in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management, an interuniversity graduate program of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Ghent University and Antwerp University in Belgium. Before joining MSU-Main Campus, Ms. Clavano was a project staff of the Hydrology, Environment, Life and Policy (HELP) Davao Network and the Department of Science and Technology XI. She also served as an Instructor at MSU-Maguindanao Campus.

Prof. Clavano scholarly works include the publication of a scientific paper in an international peer-reviewed journal, Aquatic Microbial Ecology. She also contributed to the creation of the Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals (SETI for SDGs) Scorecard published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific.
