Dr. Jasmin C. Tawantawan is a distinguished Filipino educator and scholar, deeply committed to advancing mathematics and science education. Her academic journey began at APCES Marawi City, where she completed her elementary education in 1999. She graduated with honors from MSU-UTC, Marawi City, in 2003. Demonstrating consistent academic excellence, Ms. Tawantawan was a scholar throughout her tertiary and DOST Scholar in her graduate studies, earning her Bachelor of Secondary Education (major in Mathematics), Master of Science in Education (major in Secondary Mathematics), and Ph.D. in Science Education (major in Secondary Mathematics) from MSU-Main Campus.
Throughout her career, Ms. Tawantawan has held a variety of significant roles. She has served as Designated Special Assistant and Area Supervisor at MSU-Saiwadatu CHS, MSU-Tamparan CHS, and MSU-Binidayan. Since 2022, she has been the Mathematics and Research Coordinator at MSU-OAVCAA [External Units]. Her previous leadership positions include Assistant Principal (2019–2021), ICT Coordinator (2015–2019), and Math Coordinator (2013–2018) at MSU-Tugaya CHS.
Ms. Tawantawan is also recognized for her contributions to curriculum and instructional materials development. She was a principal writer of mathematics instructional materials for Grades 7 to 10 at MSU-External Units and actively participated in committees tasked with revising, consolidating, and enhancing the syllabi for these units.
A lifelong learner and leader, Ms. Tawantawan has attended numerous seminars and workshops and has presented her research at both national and international conferences. She is a prolific writer of instructional and review materials in mathematics and is frequently invited as a resource speaker, lecturer, coach, and judge at various academic events.
