Dr. Hasmin M. Abdulhalim is a distinguished faculty member of the Department of Library and Information Science at Mindanao State University, Marawi City. With over two decades of dedicated service, she was recently appointed as the Director of the University Library for the MSU-Main Campus through Special Order No. 119-OP, Series of 2026.
Throughout her tenure, Dr. Abdulhalim has been a pivotal force in the university’s administrative and academic evolution. She has contributed her extensive expertise to several high-level bodies, including the University System Curriculum Committee (USCC), the Campus Quality Assurance Board, and the University Research Ethics Committee. Her leadership has also been instrumental within the MSU Intellectual Property Office and the MSU Entrepreneurship Development Team.
Beyond the campus, Dr. Abdulhalim is a prominent figure in the national LIS community. She serves as a member of the PRC-CDP Monitor for Librarians, an AACCUP accreditor, and a member of the NCCA-National Committee on Libraries and Information Services (NCLIS). Her leadership extends to the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI), where she has served on the National Board of Trustees and currently holds a key role as a Nomelec officer for the BARMM Regional Council.
An achiever since the beginning of her career, Dr. Abdulhalim graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Library and Information Science from MSU. She has since earned a Master’s in Library and Information Science, a Master’s in Philippine Studies (CAR), and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision.
Guided by the philosophy that quality is the deliberate result of “high intention, sincere effort, and skillful execution,” Dr. Abdulhalim champions a work ethic rooted in transparency and accountability. She operates with the firm belief that excellence is not an occasional act but a consistent habit, allowing the caliber of her work to serve as its own best spokesperson.
