Mindanao State University–Sultan Naga Dimaporo (MSU-SND) held its 50th Commencement Exercises on July 14, 2026, at the MSU-SND Gymnasium. The ceremony was attended by MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA, along with Hon. Vidal D. Villanueva III, Deputy Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), who served as the guest of honor and commencement speaker.
Drawing from his personal journey, Villanueva reflected on how limited opportunities and difficult circumstances shaped his pursuit of higher education. He urged the graduates to recognize the privilege of earning a degree from Mindanao State University, reminding them that they are among the fortunate few entrusted with the responsibility of using their education to uplift communities and contribute meaningfully to society.
Representing the graduating class, class valedictorian Hanif D. Maruhom echoed a similar call to purposeful leadership, encouraging his fellow graduates to carry with them the values cultivated throughout their academic journey. “The world we are entering needs people who are not only skilled but also compassionate. It needs individuals who lead with integrity, who serve with humility, and who remember that success is meaningful only when it is shared with others,” he said.
