The Physical Plant Division (PPD) of Mindanao State University successfully conducted its Women’s Month Celebration 2026 on March 31, 2026, anchored on the theme “Give to Gain: Empowered Women in Engineering and Public Service.” The activity brought together PPD personnel, former female PPD Directors, and invited guests in a meaningful gathering that highlighted the invaluable contributions of women in the field of engineering and public service. The celebration also fostered camaraderie among employees through interactive segments and shared reflections on the role of women in nation-building and institutional development.
The program featured a series of engaging and inspiring activities, including messages from the GAD Focal Point System, Prof. Melba M. Angni, and from former PPD Director, Dr. Labimombao A. D. Macabando.

A special highlight of the event was the recognition of former leadership whose contributions have significantly shaped the growth and success of the Physical Plant Division. These included the former female PPD Directors: (Late) Engr. Roserce C. Fortuna (1984–1985, 1999–2000), a dedicated, innovative, and exemplary leader of PPD; Engr. Labimombao A. D. Macabando, PhD (2006–2009), known for her exceptional commitment and excellence in service; Engr. Preciosa A. Dimaporo, ME1, Jr. GE, CSEE (Acting Director II – June 1, 2015 to March 1, 2016; Acting Director II – December 1, 2022 to September 4, 2024; Director II – September 5, 2024 to July 2, 2025), recognized as an outstanding, proactive, and transformative leader; and lastly, the current OIC Director II, Engr. Cayamora A. Macarambon (July 3, 2025 – Present), a dynamic, efficient, and inspiring head of office.

The program was followed by a series of lectures, including Mental Health Awareness facilitated by Dr. Raima S. Dimaampao, a faculty member of the College of Public Affairs (MSU-CPA) and a speaker from MSU-Panginam Health and Wellness Center (MSU-PHWC); Physical Wellness Awareness in the Office conducted by Dr. Nurhanisa S. Carim-Maruhom, Chief Nurse of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Lanao del Sur; and a Hijab Tutorial by Ms. Princess Jhehanne M. Mangondato-Dimaporo, a renowned hijab stylist and faculty member of the College of Health Sciences (MSU-CHS).
A presentation of awards followed, honoring dedication, leadership, and excellence within the division. Outstanding Women Employees were awarded to Ms. Johaira B. Dima-ampao and Ms. Rashida M. Basir. Major awards were also presented: Ms. Rehani R. Langco and Ms. Faida A. Ali were recognized as Best Dressed Employees of PPD; Ms. Johanna H. Magomnang received the Wellness Champion Award for her commitment to health and fitness; Ms. Marjorie Maruhom was honored with the Loyalty Award; and Ms. Moslima C. Marmay was named Ms. Congeniality for being the friendliest employee in the division.

In the afternoon, a meaningful and impactful activity was conducted through the distribution of free medicines to all attendees, as well as to other male employees of the Physical Plant Division. This initiative was made possible through the generosity and support of the Provincial Health Office, which provided essential medical supplies aimed at promoting the health and well-being of the workforce. The distribution not only addressed basic healthcare needs but also emphasized the importance of preventive care and wellness among employees. This gesture was warmly received and greatly appreciated, as it reflected a strong commitment to fostering a healthier and more supported working environment within the division.
The successful conduct of the event was made possible through the collective efforts of the organizing committee headed by Engr. Yasmin Ava Shara R. Walanda, PPD GAD Focal, with the initiative of OIC PPD Director II, Engr. Cayamora A. Macarambon, and the support of the university administration, Panginam Health and Wellness Center, MSU Infirmary, Provincial Health Office, MSU GAD Focal Point System, and the active participation of all attendees. More than a celebration, the activity served as a platform to inspire empowerment, promote gender equality, and strengthen unity within the workplace.
Overall, the PPD Women’s Month Celebration 2026 stands as a testament to the division’s commitment to recognizing and uplifting women while continuing to build a culture of inclusivity, respect, and excellence in service.
