MARAWI CITY-Mindanao State University recently held a specialized workshop titled “High-Impact Journals: Navigating the Process and Strategizing for Success” to help its staff reach a wider audience with their research. Organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development (OVCRED), the event brought together faculty and administrative personnel to focus on the goal of getting published in top-tier academic journals.
A highlight of the program was the presence of Dr. Aris Cerbo Larroder and Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio, an expert mentors who guided participants through the complexities of the modern publishing world. The sessions moved beyond simple writing tips, focusing instead on the strategic side of research. Participants learned how to pick the right journals for their work and how to handle the rigorous standards that international editors look for today.
The workshop encouraged a hands-on approach, using group discussions and active listening sessions to share ideas. This collaborative environment allowed researchers to critique their own methods and find new ways to make their work more visible to the global community.
By hosting this event, the university is making a long-term investment in its academic reputation. The goal is to ensure that the important work being done at MSU doesn’t just stay within the campus but contributes to global knowledge.
The workshop provided more than just information; it built a stronger community of scholars. With these new strategies in hand, the university’s researchers are now better prepared to share their findings with the world, ensuring their efforts lead to lasting success and recognition.
